Ever have a guy or a girl you wanted to take home to meet your family…and just about the time you were going to ask them, you remembered that Uncle Harry was going to be there? Everyone has an Uncle Harry, you know, they’re nice people they just need a short course on etiquette and hygiene - ok so they could use a PhD, but every family has one.
Theres something about putting the right person in the wrong clothes that messes up the whole situation. We as a church have worked hard to make sure our relational etiquette and hygiene are good, and now we’re getting in the right clothes. We have the opportunity to move into an incredible facility. God has given us a gift certificate to Nordstrom so to speak, but its not about us.
God has called us to be a church where spiritually unresolved people are drawn and transformed in a healthy, vibrant community. Our greatest desire as a church is to never lose our passion for drawing spiritually unresolved people to Jesus Christ. We want Sugar Hill to be the hardest city to go to hell from! Everyone withing earshot or driving distance of this building, every neighbor, every friend, every relative, every co-worker, every store clerk and aquaitance is on God’s wanted list.
This drawing of spiritually unresolved people requires 2 things: 1) getting in the right clothes and 2) your going to your friends, family, co-workers, aquaintances and inviting them to be a part…to meet the family.
We are getting in the right clothes, because there is a world that we need to bring home to meet the family. There is a world who needs to meet your Father.
